The difference between an estimate and a guaranteed price is easy to understands: an estimate is based on weight or cubic feet and may change at the day of the move, even if your item count and list are the same. Cubic feet based estimates depend on the amount of space that a shipment will take on a truck. If a company provides you with an estimate for 400 cubic feet and upon loading the truck finds out that the same shipment takes 800 cubic feet of space, once more, they can charge you at least twice as what they estimated.
