It is recommended to compile an inventory list and use that list with all the movers you are getting moving prices from. Using the same list will allow you to compare your moving price based on the same details. Always be aware that “estimates” are completely different then a binding price. For the unscrupulous moving company it is very easy to provide a “cheap” looking price and then charge double, triple, or even quadruple the original price.

 how can I know how many boxes I will end up packing?

The best way is to provide us with the maximum amount of boxes you think you will end up having and to update us when the time comes about the actual box count. At Guaranteed Price Moving you can create inventory adjustments up until the day before your move. We encourage customers to call us and make revisions. We will provide you with a new Guaranteed Price with every adjustment you make. Scheduling your move does not mean you cannot create more adjustments. On the contrary, we actually encourage our customers to let us know about updates so we can make sure your price is Guaranteed.

I feel nervous about getting a Guaranteed Price. What is I have more or less items?

All movers will charge you more if you end up moving more items at the day of the move. The advantage that you have with Guaranteed Price Moving is that you have a Guaranteed Price with an item list that can be adjusted up to the very last minute. If you receive an estimate it can change even if the item list remain the same. The mover can simply claim that the shipment is heavier or bulkier. If you receive a Guaranteed Price the price can change ONLY if you take more items.

I’ve heard so many horror stories about the moving industry what should I do to select the right company?

Check companies you consider through unbiased sources such as the Better Business Bureau. Make sure companies have been with the Bureau for at least two years to make sure their good record is the result of correct business practice over time. Make sure you ask movers all the right questions (see article ?how to compare a flat guaranteed price to other estimates? in this website) and make sure you have contracts and paperwork from the mover confirming all the details in advance.
