Choosing a moving company may be one of the hardest decisions to make when you are moving to a new state. There are so many options to choose from, so many ways to be charged that the confusion may end up making you choose the wrong moving company.
The best was is to use your intuition, if a price or a moving company sounds wrond to you DO NOT choose that company even if their moving price sounds 10 times better.

Moving can be easy or stressful it depends only on which moving company is chosen to service your upcoming move. Many times consumers will tend to pay attention only to the bottom line moving price and not to the details , quality of mover, reputation, and the average of the other prices. Your way of making sure that you will not end up with the wrong mover is to compare the details and read the small prints. First it’s a good idea to compile an inventory list this a stage that many people will do of hand without making sure that their list is detailing everything that needs moving. A detailed list should include all your furniture, smaller items, and the approximate number of boxes. This list should be used  when comparing moving companies and the same list should be included as  part of the moving price sent to you in writing by them.  Using the same list just make sure that the price you get will be for what you need to move.

Once the list is compiled and movers sent you their moving prices its time to read the details. There are three basic ways that movers will charge and you should know which one is which.

- Charges by Weight. Movers will weight their moving truck empty and full to finalize the price of the move. Estimates by weight are general estimates and the price gets finalized only when the moving company has possession of your goods.

- Charges by cubic feet : The price calculated based on the space your goods are actually taking on the truck. The moving company will load your goods and measure the space taken on their truck. Again your moving price is finalized when the movers have possession of you goods.

- a binding, flat, guaranteed price: the moving company will provide you with a guaranteed price before they have possession of your goods. This price may sometimes seem to you more expensive then the other prices, the reason for this is a binding price is the way of the moving company to take responsibility and to present their moving price the way it will end up being. Giving a binding price is an obligation and moving companies providing a binding price can not sugar coat the price and make seem cheaper then it will end up being. Imagine that you will go to the supermarket and instead of knowing how much you pay, you will get an approximation of how much you will pay and the cashier at the register will calculate the price later.
