Moving Boxes: Just How Do I Pack a Box?

 

This are some of the packing supplies  needed before packing your boxes:

    • Boxes, different sizes can be purchased Here.
    • marking pen.
    • bubble wrap for fragile items,.
    • white paper and tissue paper.
    • PVC Tape and cutting knife or scissors.

 

  • Use rugged boxes and plastic containers that can be easily sealed.  You can purchase many sizes of boxes that can be used for dishes, wardrobe and other special items.  
  • Pack electronic item their original boxes if available. Make sure all electronic equipment is tightly packed and protected.
  • It is recommended not to have boxes heavier then 45 lb. Heavy items should be packed in smaller boxes and light items in bigger boxes.
  • Mark clearly which room the boxes belong to.
  • Mark clearly which boxes are fragile.
  • Cushion fragile content and electronics using packing material like bubble wrap, white paper or tissue. You can even use towels and blankets.
  • Pack books in small boxes.
  •  Send rugs and draperies to be cleaned before the move and keep them in with original wrapping.
  • Carry all valuables, important documents and prescription medicine with you.
  • Must states will not allow any plants to be moved from one state to another.
  • Do not forget to seal the bottom of boxes using PVC tape.
  • Pack heavier items on the bottom of your boxes and lighter items on top.
  • When packing fragile items or electronics use a large amount of bubble wrap and white paper.
  • Boxes should be full, under-filled boxes may crush during the move and over-filled boxes will not seal properly

It is a great idea to purchase boxes before hand it will save a lot.
The best approach when packing your own items is to pack one room at a time, it will make the task of packing easier.
